Trump Ceases Diplomatic Efforts with Venezuela
Citing US officials, media revealed that Trump instructed his special envoy, Richard Grenell, to cease all diplomatic efforts, including talks with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
The decision follows growing frustration from Trump over Maduro’s refusal to relinquish power voluntarily and the Venezuelan government's persistent denial of involvement in drug trafficking, the report noted.
US officials confirm that the Trump administration has formulated multiple military contingency plans in case the situation escalates, with some strategies focused on ousting Maduro from power.
Maduro, for his part, has consistently accused the US of attempting to topple his government.
In addition, the US government is offering a $50 million reward for Maduro’s arrest, alleging his connections to drug trafficking and criminal organizations.
